It's true that prior attempts at autologous fat transfer to the breast have not proven to be successful due to poor techniques and lack of technology, resulting in less than optimal fat survival. But now, new technological advances in fat harvesting, adult natural fat cells transfer and breast splinting provides women the option of enlarging their breast using their own fat without the use of un-natural implants. As compared to implants, Natural Breast Augmentation involves no incisions, no new scars and no foreign objects.
This innovative procedure is referred to as Natural Breast Enhancement or Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation because it harvests patients own fat from love handles, thighs, or other areas of the body and relocates that fat to the breast. The fat transfer breast enhancement procedure is done under local anesthesia in our office. The patient is awake and can see her new breast size and form before the procedure is finalized. The process consists of two procedures performed the same day; first harvesting the fat from other areas of the body, and then placing that fat strategically into the breasts. Fat transfer not only enhances the breast size and form, but also slims down patient’s thighs, mid-section or love handles at the same time. This dual process creates better cosmetic results.
Dr. Ramos' Natural Breast Augmentation technique employs the latest technologic advances in fat harvesting and fat cell transfer. First, unwanted fat is safely removed from the donor site (usually the abdomen, hips or legs) using Body-Jet liposuction, a device that utilizes pulses of water to gentle remove fat cells without damaging them. Fat harvesting using Body-Jet is by far superior to other methods that yield less viable fat cells. The survival of fat cells transferred to the breast or to any other area of the body is also influenced by the fat transfer technique. Dr. Ramos’ micro fat transfer procedure involves a meticulous injection of hundreds of tiny individual fat droplets into the breast. The fat then grows within a matrix of tissue and the breasts enlarge naturally.

Risks of Traditional Implants
There is a long list of potential complications that patients with saline or silicone implants can experience at some point in their lives. Some of them include:

- Rupture/deflation

The most common complications that occur with saline or silicone implants are Capsular Contracture and Rupture/Deflation which leads to breast deformity and sometimes pain or silicone granulomas. Both of these will lead the patient to another major surgery for either a re-operation and/or removal of her implants.
- Capsule contracture occurs when the scar tissue or capsule that normally is formed around the implant tightens and squeezes the implant deforming the appearance of the implant. It can affect both breasts and can occur at any time
- Rupture of Silicone implants can be unnoticed and may occur over a period of years. Patients may have decreased breast size, uneven breasts, tingling, numbness, burning, swelling, pain, or tenderness. On the other hand, Saline implants usually deflate rapidly. Implants may deflate or rupture within few months or years, forcing the patient to have another breast surgery.
There is a high percentage of patients with breast implants that will likely need a re-operation or removal of the implant due to breast implant complications. Removal of a breast implant and placement of another implant in a different pocket will be a temporary fix and the problem very often recurs.
